The following documentation must accompany this application:
- Application form signed by a legitimate candidate along with a photocopy.
- Original and a photocopy of: Passport, valid travel document for entry into Spain or valid certificate of inscription.
- Original and a photocopy of the preliminary contract or job offer formulated using the official form specifically mentioning, in the case of part-time employment, the number and distribution of working hours.
- Original and photocopy of the CIF (fiscal identification number) of the company or the DNI (national identification number) of the employer if the latter is a natural person.
- If the business is a company, original and photocopy of the power of attorney of the representative signing the job offer on behalf of the company.
- Original and photocopy of the company’s inscription in the Social Security System.
- In the case of domestic help, original and photocopy of proof of economic means by which to cover expenses deriving from the labour engagement (personal income tax statement, last three pay slips).
- If relevant, original and a photocopy of equivalency recognition of any diploma or professional training needed for the rendering of the services in question.
If the applicant has been granted a residency permit under exceptional circumstances, he/she must also attach the original and a photocopy of the valid residency card.
If the applicant has student residency status, he/she must submit:
- Original and photocopy of a valid student card.
- Certificate issued by the educational institution where studies are undertaken making mention of the duration of studies and the timetable of courses taken.
Requirement to personally submit application
The third DA of Organic Law 4/2000, in the wording of Organic Law 14/2003, provides that when the legitimised party is in Spanish territory, residency and work permit applications must be personally submitted in the case of natural persons or submitted by the legal business representative in the case of legal persons, at the registries of the bodies with competence to process the said application.
Submission deadlines
The application must be submitted before the commencement of the labour or professional activity which, under no circumstance, may begin before the permit is granted.
